DRESS RULES

Principles

(a)  These dress rules are for the guidance of Members and visitors and are intended to be open, understandable and workable
and to be consistent with standards of dress considered acceptable at modern-day Golf Clubs.
(b)  The rules are not intended to be fully prescriptive, and are in some cases open to interpretation, but Members are expected to
take personal responsibility for observing standards of dress that reflect well on themselves and the Club.
(c)  Visitors, visiting societies, visiting teams and those participating in open competitions are required to comply with these
dress rules. It is up to Members to ensure that their individual guests are advised accordingly.
(d)  Golfers should change their clothing and footwear in the locker rooms and preferably not in the car park.
(e)  The Course includes the practice field and practice putting green.

On the Course

(a)  Golfers must wear smart golf wear and golf shoes.
(b)  Trousers are not permitted to be tucked into socks unless covered by over-trousers.
(c)  Tailored shorts, worn with socks, are permitted.
(d)  Emblazoned or replica shirts not designed specifically for the purpose of golf (e.g. football shirts) and blue denim wear clothes of
       any type are not permitted.

In the Clubhouse

(a)  The standard of dress in the Clubhouse is smart casual clothing or clean, dry golf wear. Smart footwear must be worn.
(b)  Tailored shorts are permitted in all areas except when dining in the dining room or when designated formal functions are held.
(c)   Waterproof trousers, clothing that is wet, soiled or muddy, golf shoes, golf caps, hats, emblazoned or replica shirts not designed
specifically for the purpose of golf (e.g. football shirts) and blue denim wear clothes of any type are not permitted. Trainers may not
be worn, except by children under the age of 8.
(d)  Jackets and ties or other formal attire must be worn for certain team meals, prize presentations (winners) and other functions, as
       designated.

Relaxations

Dress rules may be relaxed in certain circumstances by the Club Captain or, in his absence, a Director, the Team Captain of the day or the authorised event organiser.
